Albert Einstein famously said, ‘If the bee disappeared off the face of the Earth, man would only have four years left to live. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.´ This, for the human race, means we have a huge challenge ahead.
During the summer of 1998, on a family friend’s organic farm within my neighbourhood, I found my passion in beekeeping. My adventurous spirit and my love for beekeeping brought me to the wide-brown land and then, unknowingly into the arms of my wife. We now share our days with our four children, building our lives together and building bee-box, after bee-box, after bee-box.
Together, our mission is to develop sustainable and eco-friendly beekeeping methods that not only provide honey and keep the bees thriving, but support farming practices to yield higher crops. We pride ourselves on being a family business, supporting other families. In order to do this, we need to work together- and we share the example of a bee colony to help us explain just why.
Queen Bees
Queen and Honey specialises in Queen Bee Rearing. We rear Apis mellifera ligustica – Italian Queen Bees and are based in Wagga Wagga.
With 22 years of experience in honey production, queen rearing and managing a successful apiary, we strive to always deliver optimum quality in all aspects of beekeeping.
Honey
Our honey reflects the Eucalyptus and local farm crops in which the bees forage.
From the orange farms in Leeton, to the Australian Eucalyptus in Tumbarumba. From the farms surrounding Wagga, to the riverside of Currawarna- our bees pollinate the areas of the Riverina and Snowy Valleys. As a result of the pollination of these areas, the breakfast tables are filled with 100% Australian honey, fresh, natural and ready to enjoy.
